Me as a student
Greetings! This is Yue. I’m currently an undergrad at UIUC majoring in Computer Science. My academic journey has led me to develop a deep interest in algorithms and cryptography. In Spring 2024, I took CS 598 (Multi-party Computation) with prof. David Heath, whose guidance introduced me to the fascinating field of cryptography. That experience inspired me to explore furthur into applied cryptography, where I had the opportunity to assisted prof. Ling Ren with his OnionPIR project.
Mathematics has also been a significant part of my academic life. I was once lost in hard proofs, unable to figure out why I wanted to read those abstract things. But those challenges equipped me with the resilience to approach rigorous definitions and theorems without hesitation or fear. Although I am probably not the person who can talk about the beauty of mathematics, I genuinely enjoyed my journey through it.

When taking pictures, I don’t want to take it too serious. I don’t want my photos to look too professional. Instead, I want them to look warm, peaceful, full of vitality.
